La Turbie is a picturesque medieval village perched on the cliffs overlooking Monaco and the Mediterranean Sea. Charming little village in its own right, La Turbie is home to the Trophée romain d'Auguste, a monument of the Via Julia Roman roads and the Aurelian Way between Rome and Roman Gaul.
The central part of the village has shops, restaurants and hotels, it is an active French village. Walks are highly recommended in its unique Provencal pastel.
The narrowness of the streets and the height of the buildings tend to keep the village in the shade most of the day. As you walk there, you will also discover defensive walls from the 12th and 13th centuries, picturesque arched passages and beautiful plants everywhere.
From the village of La Turbie, there is a magnificent view of the Mediterranean coast, from Monaco via Roquebrune-Cap-Martin to Italy.
